With the vast majority of the mechanical work finished, it was time to "clean the office".
We started out by removing the seats, ripping the old carpeting out and removing all the dash plastics and dash pad.
We first replaced the carpeting with all new reproduction carpet, switching the color from graphite to black. We then replaced the door panel and hush panel carpet inserts with black pieces, creating a "two-tone" graphite/black interior.
The worn out OEM steering wheel was replaced with a MOMO "Race Series" wheel, and the dead Delco/Bose audio was replaced with a Pioneer head unit and speakers. We also installed a set of AutoVation aluminum racing pedals to add to the "businesslike" look.
The dash plastics were cleaned up and reused, and the dashpad was treated and reinstalled. We replaced the tired OEM seats with a set of Sport seats from a 1996 model Corvette, giving the interior a little bit of an updated look. The original visors were shredded looking, and were replaced with a pair from a later model C4 as well.
We fitted the rear compartment with custom aluminum plates for the nitrous bottle and blowdown/feed tubes. The red bottle compliments the red steering wheel inserts, and is easily reachable from the driver’s seat. The controls were installed in the center console and are logically laid out for easy use.
With the interior now complete, all that was left was to finish up the exterior...
