In this picture, notice the messy "discount store" yellow plug wires draped rather sloppily around everything. Is this a sign of bad things to come? Also of note is the OE valve covers finish (not good), and they would need aggressive cleaning if they were being reused.
The L98 engine had a bad ticking coming from the area of the cylinder heads when we first got it, indicating rocker arm and or valve spring problems. Or maybe we’ll get lucky and find a loose rocker arm ...
